TOPIC: Scheduled Maintenence 02/10/2010

Re: Scheduled Maintenence 02/10/2010 6 years 7 months ago #7266

First of all, I'd like to thank Nik for the speedy turnaround, getting us better hosting at a better spec for around the same price AND getting the live running on it in the space of a few short hours.

I'd also like to make sure that nobody forgets Dave in all of the kudos, because he performed arguably the most vital function of all during the rebuild: listening to me scream, sob and moan through three weeks of tech hell. I'd probably have gone insane without a sounding board and an occasional validation of my bacon sandwich eating.

That last interuption was TOTALLY my fault demonstrating that somedays I should double check the config with apachectl configtest and not just add a CustomLog line.

Sorry guys !

So why was I playing with itinerant log files ?

Well I was trying to create a log file for each of your Podcasts hosted so that we could pull out some seperate stats from them ... I shall put that on the ... things to play with when I am less distracted on a monday afternoon.

Is anyone else reminded of Star Trek Voyager?

You could boost the intake relays of the impulse drive refronters and increase ion osmosis efficiency by 14.3%, thereby defeating the aliens.

Once again big big big thank you to Nik for helping us in our hour of need. Both he and Matt have been exceptional during this and have given up so much of their free time in order to keep the site alive. Their contribution can't be overstated.

Without them it's me staring at a command line and trying to program a server based entirely on all the computer programming I learned in Tron.

Except that what Nik's saying makes sense, if you happen to be technical, whilst everything is Voyager is bullshit. Apart from that, EXACTLY the same!
