GeekPlanetOnline is pleased to announce the impending arrival of four new podcasts – and one returning favourite - each launching on our network before the end of quarter two 2017! Each show will be free to download, and each adds new voices to the GeekPlanetOnline audio library.

Starting March 2017, Irish podcasters Bobby Best, Ciaran Flanagan and Ciarán Marcantonio join us for Comic City Cast, the official podcast of Derry's Comic City Festival. Ireland's only cross-community, cross-border, comics podcast brings you the very finest in comics news, reviews and interviews, with occasional – and repeated! – nods to wrestling as well. The Comic City Cast has generated a dedicated following, both with the fan community and within the Irish comics press, on their original feed and we are proud to have them join our podcasting community.

Making its debut in Q2 2017 is Diminishing Returns, a light-hearted look at film franchises – mostly horror - which slipped and fell into box set filler following initially successful outings. From Species IV to Hellraiser: Revelations, your intrepid hosts watch the last scrapings of the cinematic barrel so you don’t have to! Diminishing Returns is hosted by Matt Dray (The Gentlemen’s Grindhouse), Tanja Huvila (GPO Magazine) and Matt Dillon (The Eclectic Podcast, The Babble On Project).

And Tanja isn’t done there! Launching alongside this new show is a full podcast version of her GPO Magazine column The Joy of Stacks. This extended, hour-long edition of the popular segment sees Tanja enthusing about books she has found the most enjoyable, interesting, insightful or impactful; a relaxing treat for bedtime and an entertaining, female-led counterpoint to Jim Moon’s Hypnobobs.

The fourth podcast, also arriving in Q2 2017, will be announced in the coming weeks, and involves a partnership with an established genre brand. Details have yet to be finalised, but production on the show will be starting very soon. Watch this space!

And finally… GeekPlanetOnline is pleased to confirm the return of Witless For The Defence, the podcast which takes so-called cinematic “guilty pleasures” and puts them on trial. Hosts Chris Johnson, Elton McManus and the Rt.Hon. Judge Jim Moon are now joined by a mystery fourth member of the court, and new episodes begin recording in the next few months.

So, whoever you are and whatever you’re into, keep your eye on GeekPlanetOnline for the best in audio entertainment!
